Q.1. Construct the right angled ∆PQR, where m∠Q = 90°, QR = 8cm and PR = 10 cm.
Ans:
Steps of construction:
- Draw a line segment QR = 8 cm.
- At point Q, draw an angle of 90oi.e. ∠XQR = 90o.
- With R as a center and radius 10 cm, draw an arc that cuts the ray XQ at P.
- Join PR.
Then, ΔPQR is the required right angled triangle.
Q.2. Construct a right-angled triangle whose hypotenuse is 6 cm long and one of the legs is 4 cm long.
Ans:
Steps of construction:
- Draw a line segment BC = 4 cm.
- At point B, draw an angle of 90oi.e. ∠XBC = 90o.
- With C as a centre and radius 6 cm, draw an arc that cuts BX at A.
- Join AC.
Then, ΔABC is the required right angled triangle.
Q.3. Construct an isosceles right-angled triangle ABC, where m∠ACB = 90° and AC = 6 cm.
Ans:
Steps of construction:
- Draw a line segment BC = 6 cm.
- At point C, draw an angle of 90oi.e. ∠XCB = 90o.
- With C as a center and radius 6 cm, draw an arc that cuts CX at A.
- Join AB.
Then, ΔABC is the required right angled triangle.
