हल-  विलयन की चालकता, विलयन के एकांक आयतन में उपस्थित आयनों के कारण होती है। तनुकरण पर प्रति एकांक आयतन मे आयनों की संख्या घट जाती है, अतः चालकता भी घट जाती है।
